Fixing up the leg. Nothing worse than a leg that doesn't work.

Hauling soybeans to the Cargill crushing plant in Wichita. They are open 24 7. Therefor we usually haul at odd hours to avoid any lines.

With some patience and some creative maneuvering. I was able to use the header Trailer to bring the 30 ft header through the 24 ft door. Twist it around and attach it to the combine. Squeeze the tractor in and i have set the stage for a scene in an upcoming music video!!!

Doing some work down in the pit of our grain elevator. Where everyday is Halloween.

Fixing and cleaning the header before putting it away for winter.

Received a load of dry distillers grain or ddg. It is a byproduct of ethanol. Used for protein in the cattle ration.

Just finished installing a Deweze bale bed on a newer pickup. This bed is able to pick up hay bales and set it on the bed so we can haul it out and feed it to cattle on wheat.

The hay provides dry matter to a stomach full of very rich and wet wheat feed.
Working 330 head of cattle. They showed up throughout the night. Two loads out of Wyoming and one out of Colorado. All three drove through a snow storm that was associated with the powerful cold front that also arrived that night dropping temperatures from 88 to the 40s. This cold air mass is now expected to collide with hurricane Sandy.
Harvest is winding down.
Swheat!

Putting cattle out to graze wheat. It's a t-bone factory. That's the farm in the background.

Finished mile of fence.
This is what happens when I'm blogging and the GPS kicks off while I'm planting beans. Notice the row command on our planter eliminates overlap by shutting rows off. Except for row seven. The clutch went out on that row.

Soybean harvest has begun! Yields are much higher than expected.
